Former Counter-Strike professional player Daniil ‘Zeus’ Teslenko shared his thoughts on comparing Daniil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets and Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev, discussing whether donk has surpassed s1mple. Zeus noted that in each era of CS there have been outstanding players. He mentioned NEO, f0rest, F_1N, and then s1mple, device, and dupreeh.
Zeus acknowledged donk as a phenomenal player who has achieved great success and shown himself very strongly. However, Zeus disagrees with the assertion that donk is better than s1mple in his prime. He emphasized that s1mple demonstrated a high level of play over a long period, unlike donk, whose long-term performance is yet to be tested by time. Zeus also noted that Team Spirit’s success contributes to donk’s recognition.
He recalled that s1mple in his prime competed with the dominant Astralis and often received MVPs, even when his team took second places. Zeus concluded that, in his opinion, s1mple in his prime still remains possibly the strongest player, but only time will tell.
