Users in Russia have noticed that YouTube video hosting has started loading without issues on both computers and mobile devices, even when a VPN is disabled. Subscribers of Rostelecom and other internet providers have reported the return of access to the platform.
The Telegram channel Baza drew attention to user comments from Russia indicating that YouTube has stopped lagging. A journalist from the publication also shared her personal experience, stating that the video hosting in the application “flies,” all previews load instantly, something that hasn’t been the case for several years. However, a number of users are still experiencing issues with access to the platform.
The reason for the improved access to the hosting for some users is currently unknown. Russians began experiencing disruptions in YouTube’s operation in the summer of 2024. According to official statements, the problems with the platform’s performance in the country are related to equipment wear and tear.
