Map designer Shawn FMPONE Snelling has officially launched the revised Cache map for Counter-Strike 2 on the Steam Workshop. The updated version is ready for players to install, with a download size of 3.16 GB.

Cache is known as a bomb defusal scenario map, set near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Originally created by Volcano for Counter-Strike: Source, it was introduced to the game in 2011. Later, FMPONE ported the map to CS:GO and collaborated with the original creator to refine its balance and design, leading to its inclusion in the competitive map pool.

Valve removed Cache from the official tournament map rotation in 2019, replacing it with Vertigo. FMPONE released a reworked version some months after, but for Counter-Strike 2, he opted to rebuild the map from the ground up.
