Tyson Fury might compete for a world championship in his first boxing match after coming out of retirement.

The “Gypsy King” announced his retirement again in January after winning twice against Oleksandr Usyk, the former undisputed heavyweight champion.

Turki Alalshikh, a prominent boxing organizer in Saudi Arabia, is expected to make a huge offer to Fury to tempt him back into boxing for a major fight with Anthony Joshua.

Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, has not ruled out Fury competing for their renowned green belt. He mentioned to The Action Network that they don’t speculate, but they have precedents for accommodating former champions returning to boxing.

He recalled Sugar Ray Leonard challenging Marvin Hagler after a four-year retirement.

Sulaiman stated that the WBC reviewed medical reports and considered everything. He noted Tyson Fury’s previous retirements and comebacks to fight for the WBC title, suggesting a similar scenario is possible.

Fury, a former two-time unified heavyweight champion, seems content outside of boxing. He recently told his cousin Andy Lee that he is not interested in the sport anymore.

Sulaiman believes Fury has nothing left to prove, emphasizing that Fury’s decision is personal. He acknowledged Fury’s family and financial security, suggesting retirement could bring happiness. However, he also recognized Fury’s ability to defeat anyone if he chooses to return.

Sulaiman prioritized safety, happiness, and legacy over boxing and money, suggesting Fury would be fighting for pride, highlighting his exceptional character.

Boxing enthusiasts worldwide hope Fury will return to face Anthony Joshua, who remains optimistic about their “Battle of Britain” fight happening.

Joshua told iFL TV that a fight with Fury is the best option for him commercially and as a significant event. He acknowledged potential fights with others like Joseph Parker but emphasized the magnitude of a Fury fight, highlighting its long-anticipated nature and the thriving heavyweight division.

Joshua pointed out that in any fight, including one with Parker, there will be a winner and a loser, implying his determination to be the victor.
