Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov, a professional Counter-Strike 2 player, shared his thoughts on the Train map and expressed a negative view of Anubis. The esports athlete discussed his map pool preferences in an interview.
[Question: ‘What do you think about the new Train?’] I think the new Train, which Valve has made, is not really playable in the competitive scene right now. Let me explain why. They removed many details that were there before, and because of this, the macro gameplay hasn’t changed, but there are fewer positions where CT players can stand.
For AWP players, this map has become less impactful. In my opinion, it is better than Vertigo or Inferno, but there is room for improvement for this map. <…> It seems to me that there is too narrow a range of actions on it. I never had problems with Train, but at the moment I don’t really like it. But it’s still better than Vertigo.
[Question: ‘What do you think about Anubis?’] I think Anubis is вообще дерьмо (trash). That’s my opinion because they removed Vertigo. Train is a good map, but it needs a lot of changes, especially for CT.
Earlier, Sokolov named the best players in his role in the history of the discipline, placing himself higher than Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.
