Aybek “TA2000” Tokayev, a Dota 2 player for Chimera Esports, has shared his perspective on rejoining a team composed of Russian-speaking players. This comes after his time competing with teams like PSG Quest and Aurora Gaming, which had international rosters.
In a recent interview, when asked about his experience returning to a fully Russian-speaking team, TA2000 commented: “It feels a bit unusual, and I sense a certain pressure to be more vocal since it’s my native language. However, I’m also mindful of not wanting to over-communicate, so it’s a delicate balance. In English, communication is often more concise, like saying ‘Go, go!’ or ‘Back!’. Russian speakers tend to express themselves much more elaborately and rapidly. In my opinion, conversations in Russian can be significantly more verbose.”
TA2000’s debut with Chimera Esports was at DreamLeague Season 25, where the team secured a commendable fourth-place finish. Team Spirit emerged as the champions of the tournament.
