Tournament organizer PGL has announced changes to the prize pool distribution system for the upcoming PGL Bucharest 2025 CS2 tournament. The information was released on the company’s website.
According to PGL’s decision, half of the initial prize pool of $1.25 million will be allocated to the participating clubs. Representatives of the organizer explained that the changes are related to clarifications in the VRS rules, according to which team prizes are taken into account when calculating ranking points. It is likely that the new system will also be applied to other PGL events.
The previous prize pool distribution model at PGL tournaments did not involve splitting the funds. Clubs received all the prize money in a single payment and then independently decided how to manage it.
PGL Bucharest 2025 will be held as a LAN event in Romania from April 6th to 13th. Sixteen teams will compete for a prize pool of $1.25 million. The tournament matches will be held in a studio format at the PGL venue.
