Level designer Shawn FMPONE Snelling decided not to include the graffiti dedicated to Alexander ‘s1mple’ Kostylev’s highlight on Cache in the CS2 version of the map. Players noticed this absence after the location was released.
The s1mple graffiti on Cache was originally added after Kostylev, playing for Team Liquid at ESL One Cologne 2016 against Fnatic, made an incredible play. He famously killed two opponents with a jumping no-scope AWP shot. The graffiti was located on the wall to the right of the passage leading from point B to the Counter-Terrorist base.
Screenshots published by FMPONE during the development of the updated Cache already showed that the graffiti was not present. The reason for the decision to remove it remains unknown. The CS2 version of Cache was released on March 3rd.
