Tragic incident occurred during a live stream of Japanese streamer Ai Mogami. A man attacked her during the broadcast and inflicted fatal stab wounds.
The streamer was broadcasting a walk from the bustling Shinjuku district in Tokyo, using the Japanese platform Whowatch. Approximately 6,500 viewers were watching her live stream. Suddenly, a man, estimated to be around 40 years old, attacked her, inflicting several stab wounds. After Mogami fell, the attacker asked if she was still alive.
The suspect was quickly detained. He told police he is a hater of the streamer, but the true motives for his actions are still being investigated. Unconfirmed rumors are circulating in the media that the attacker may have been a donator who had previously sent significant amounts of money and subsequently wanted to get it back.
