Team Spirit’s mid player, Denis ‘larl’ Sigitov, summarized the results of their match against Team Liquid in the final round of the second group stage at DreamLeague Season 25 in Dota 2. He shared his reflections on the game in an interview during the English-language broadcast of the tournament.
“I think I just played poorly on the second map: I fed a lot, going for runes alone, which resulted in their Pangolier and supports getting a significant net worth advantage. I believe we lost the second map because of me, as I fed too much. After the game, I said, ‘Guys, sorry, I played badly, I’ll try to win the next one.’”
Larl also commented on the Dazzle pick in the first game of the series.
“Dazzle is good against Ember Spirit, but the enemies were constantly trying to kill me, although the team was saving me. It was an easy game for Slark and possibly easy for Tidehunter, so it was simple to play. I was on a ranged hero when I had three melee heroes on my team. Just like on the third map, only with Dazzle instead of Sniper – [a similar concept], but a slightly different draft. It was easy to play: when you have three heroes going forward, you just need to take the right position, and everything will be simple. Even if they jump on you, Dazzle has a new Aghanim’s Shard that allows you to use ultimate and Shallow Grave even while controlled.
When the patch came out, I thought about Dazzle and played five or six matches on him. It’s easy for me to play Dazzle because I’ve done it before and I have some understanding of how to position and lane, I remember it. So it wasn’t difficult. Maybe the new ultimate mechanic was a bit unusual in the first game, but by the fourth game, it’s easy to understand what to do.”
Team Spirit defeated Team Liquid with a score of 2:1 and advanced to the playoffs of DreamLeague S25. Larl’s team will start their performance in the final stage from the lower bracket, where they will compete against Chimera Esports.
