Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have demonstrated outstanding performance in recent years. Since 2020, they boast a 53.40% win rate, establishing themselves as a leading team in the league. They have consistently outperformed many rivals, achieving the highest win rate among teams playing over 50 games in this period.

Over the past five years, KKR has won one championship title in 2024 and was runner-up in 2021. Remarkably, they have secured more victories than Chennai Super Kings, even though CSK secured two titles during the same timeframe.

Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders, expressed his satisfaction with these statistics, stating, “These stats are encouraging and confirm our long-held belief in simplicity and placing the right individuals in the correct roles within the franchise.”

Mysore, who is the longest-serving CEO in the league with 15 years of experience, discussed the team’s approach to player changes. He emphasized empowerment and unwavering support for team members, adding, “By offering opportunities, we’ve witnessed players flourish and reach their maximum potential.” KKR’s current setup includes Ajinkya Rahane as captain and Dwayne Bravo as mentor, succeeding Shreyas Iyer and Gautam Gambhir.

Across 74 matches since 2020, KKR has a record of 39 wins and 34 losses, with one no result. After narrowly missing the playoffs in 2020, they reached the final in 2021 and then faced disappointing seasons in 2022 and 2023 before winning the championship last season under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy.

Interestingly, Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) have even higher success rates at 62% and 55.80% respectively. However, they have played fewer games, with 45 and 44 matches, respectively.
