Jack Draper has joked that he lacks the attributes to justify his nickname.
The 23-year-old, who also works as a model, is called 'Big D' by some tennis fans.
However, the British No.1 admits he doesn’t quite live up to the nickname given by fans.
In an old interview from 2023, when the nickname 'Big D' was first suggested to him, he responded: "Big D! It’s a shame because I don’t have one. Sorry!"
Draper has often received compliments on his name, which sounds like it could belong to a James Bond character.
He mentioned: "People often say, ‘Oh, I like your name Jack Draper.’ A lot of people from other countries also tell me, ‘I love your name, it’s amazing.’"
Draper recently won his first ATP Masters 1000 title with a strong win against Holger Rune at Indian Wells.
After his quick victory over the Danish player, he commented: "Winning here feels incredible. I’ve watched this tournament since I was little, seeing all the champions play on this big court. It really means a lot to me to become a champion here.
"This is definitely a significant moment for me. Entering the top 10 and winning my first Masters title boosts my self-belief and confidence."
"Coming into today, I knew it was a final. Honestly, I felt a bit nervous before playing, but once I was on the court, I felt great. I felt in control and knew what I needed to do."
