R Devraj, the Indian cricket team manager, has unexpectedly left his role due to a family bereavement. His mother sadly passed away on Sunday morning, and upon receiving this news, Devraj immediately travelled to Hyderabad. Devraj also holds the position of secretary at the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
Indian team officials have confirmed this information. The Indian team, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, is currently participating in their final league match of the Champions Trophy against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) on Sunday. It is currently uncertain whether Devraj will return to his managerial duties, with the decision expected to depend on the outcome of Tuesday’s semifinal.
The HCA has expressed its condolences, stating, “With profound sadness, we announce the demise of Kamaleshwari garu, mother of our Secretary Devraj. May her soul rest in peace. Our deepest condolences are with Devraj garu and his family,” according to an official HCA statement.
