Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced has received the lowest user review score on Steam among all games in the franchise. According to SteamDB, this next-gen version of the title has earned only 51% positive reviews.
For comparison, the original GTA V, now labeled as Legacy in the store database, has over 86% positive reviews. Even the heavily criticized GTA: The Trilogy collection was better received by Steam users. Before the next-gen GTA V, Grand Theft Auto III held the lowest rating with 65% positive reviews (while San Andreas and Vice City remasters have 73-76%).
Initially, the Enhanced Edition was released in 2022 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. In March 2025, this version became available for PC users. It features a separate client with its own progression and multiplayer. Gamers have criticized the game for poor save transfers, an abundance of advertisements for paid Rockstar services, and minor graphical improvements.
