To mark his 48th birthday, boxing icon Floyd Mayweather has indulged in a spectacular purchase: a 145-carat diamond-covered watch valued at £1.4 million.

Mayweather, whose career earnings are estimated to be close to £1 billion, is well-known for his penchant for luxury jewelry.

Living up to his “Money” nickname, Mayweather spent $1.8 million (£1.4 million) on this bespoke timepiece.

He visited the famous diamond district in New York and Pristine Jewelers to pick up his latest acquisition.

Friends and celebrity jewelers Avi Davidov and Ofir Ben Shimon presented Mayweather with the “One of One” watch to commemorate the launch of his new supplement brand, Youare101.

Davidov and Shimon are also known for creating Cardi B’s £400,000 diamond engagement ring.

Footage from Daily Mail shows Ofir presenting the watch, stating, “This watch was made specifically for the champ Floyd Money Mayweather, a one of one piece.”

Mayweather commented, “Avi and Ofir have been close friends for over ten years. This watch, personally crafted by them, is very special and certainly wasn’t cheap.”

Mayweather’s most expensive watch remains the $18 million (£14.2 million) Jacob & Co Billionaire Watch, adorned with 239 diamonds.

Mayweather officially retired from boxing in 2017 after his victory over UFC star Conor McGregor.

However, he has continued to participate in exhibition matches against figures from boxing, MMA, and social media.

When questioned about a potential match with 11-1 YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, 28, by Jimmy Fallon, Mayweather dismissed the idea.

Mayweather stated, “Easy. Too easy. At 48, too easy.”
