The developers have announced that Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator will incorporate the NVIDIA PhysX physics engine. This information was shared on the game’s Steam community page.

PhysX will serve as an alternative to Bullet, the current physics engine in both ETS 2 and ATS. While the developers mention that major changes to the physics are not expected, they highlight that PhysX will lead to more precise and accurate collision calculations. Furthermore, it will provide the development team with enhanced debugging tools, facilitating quicker bug fixes and error resolution.

Full NVIDIA PhysX support is scheduled to be implemented with the release of update 1.54. Players interested in testing the new patch can currently access the beta version through the game’s properties in Steam. Even after the official update, players will have the option to revert to using Bullet by adding “-bullet” to the game’s launch parameters.
