A crew member working on the show “Beast Games,” created by YouTuber MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), shared a story about an incident that occurred on set.
The employee sustained a significant injury when a heavy piece of set decoration fell on his shoulder while another team was dismantling the set. This resulted in an eight-day hospital stay, lung surgery, and the removal of his spleen. He also suffered several broken bones.
According to the injured worker, the accident was the fault of the set management, as there were no safety barriers or hazard warnings in place during the set dismantling. For compensation, he was reportedly given Uber and DoorDash gift certificates. However, a source close to the production of “Beast Games” claimed that other forms of compensation were offered, but the employee specifically requested these gift cards.
It is noted that the injured employee also received compensation from the Workers’ Compensation Board in Canada, where filming took place. This might complicate his ability to pursue further compensation from the show’s creators.
The show “Beast Games” premiered on Netflix in late 2024. Contestants competed in challenges similar to “Squid Game” for a $5 million prize.
