“It’s incredibly upsetting. Because of some [idiots] who DDoSed Miposhka and Collapse, one of the most exciting finals of the season is ruined. <…> It’s obvious that ‘buts’ are irrelevant now, but that game could have easily ended in 15 minutes with a victory for Spirit. However, thanks to ESL for not issuing a technical defeat in the series. That would have been an even greater historical [mess].”
The DreamLeague Season 25 grand final commenced on the evening of March 2nd. With Team Spirit leading 2:1 against Tundra Esports, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov’s team encountered technical problems, preventing them from continuing the match. It was later confirmed that the esports players were subjected to a DDoS attack. This involved unknown individuals sending approximately 100 game invites per second to the players, causing Dota 2 to crash due to the overload of requests.
Consequently, the tournament organizers decided to postpone the grand final to March 4th, at 6:00 PM Moscow time. More details regarding the timeline of events can be found in other materials.
DreamLeague Season 25 is held online from February 16th to March 4th. Sixteen teams are competing for a $1 million prize pool and 22,440 ESL Pro Tour points.
