Her mother, an English teacher and pianist, and her father, a boxer turned lawyer, encouraged her diverse interests.

It was natural for Diana to embrace every activity she tried. However, tennis became her primary focus.

Tennis stood out for the talented 20-year-old, now considered a potential Grand Slam champion.

Diana explains how her diverse childhood shaped her: “From ages four to eight, alongside tennis, I was involved in classical dance, chess, and piano.”

“Gradually, tennis took precedence.”

“I can still play chess. When I was younger, my dad and I often played chess together.”

“Tennis was always my greatest joy, even as a child.”

“For a couple of years around age 14 or 15, lacking a fitness coach, I used boxing for my fitness training.”

“It was really enjoyable and challenging, especially since I trained with my younger brother.”

Diana showcased her tennis skills at North Carolina State University but decided to turn professional after a year.

This decision proved successful as she had an impressive 2024.

She earned a silver medal in doubles at the Olympics, secured four WTA titles, reached the US Open last-16, and climbed to world No. 12.

Diana is known on the tour for her distinctive polka-dot bandana, which she wears in every match.

Martina Navratilova, a nine-time Wimbledon champion, believes Diana is more than just a unique style, urging, “Remember the name.”
