Curtis Pritchard, known from Love Island, is contemplating a move into Misfits Boxing, mirroring his friend and fellow Love Island contestant Tommy Fury.
Following in the footsteps of Fury and Idris Virgo, who both transitioned from the ITV reality show to boxing, Pritchard is considering entering the ring.
Recently, Fury and Virgo signed with Misfits Boxing, a promotion focused on celebrity crossover boxing events, founded by YouTuber KSI.
Pritchard, a professional dancer who previously received boxing training from Fury, is now considering his own boxing prospects.
Speaking to SunSport, Pritchard shared his long-held interest in fighting and boxing since childhood.
He explained that his dedication to dance as a primary career previously prevented him from pursuing boxing seriously.
“Now at a different stage in life, I feel it’s time to explore boxing, something I’ve always wanted to do, and step into the ring,” Pritchard stated.
Pritchard, 29, has some prior boxing experience, having trained with Fury, 25, for a TV show called “The Boxer and the Ballroom Dancer.”
During the show, Fury learned ballroom dancing for a performance, while Pritchard trained for and won a white-collar boxing match on points.
Reflecting on the experience, Pritchard said, “The Boxer and the Ballroom Dancer! Training Tommy for dance, and them training me for boxing was brilliant.”
He mentioned that the white-collar fight involved headgear, which he found slightly distracting.
“While headgear offers more protection, I’d prefer to try boxing without it to see the difference,” he added.
Despite reports of strained friendship with Fury, Pritchard remains in contact with British boxing legend Ricky Hatton, whom he met during training for the TV series.
“Having boxed with Ricky Hatton years ago, I can always reach out to him for guidance,” Pritchard commented.
He also noted his connection to Manchester and Cheshire, Hatton’s hometown area.
Pritchard has also hinted at a potential match against Davide Sanclimenti, the former partner of his current girlfriend Ekin-Su Culculoglu.
When questioned about potential opponents, Pritchard responded that these considerations are currently in progress.
He also mentioned having his first boxing training session earlier that day.
Pritchard and Ekin-Su became a couple on the recent Love Island All Stars series.
Meanwhile, Tommy Fury reportedly ended his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague last year, despite recent reconciliation rumors.
Fury’s last fight was in October 2023, where he controversially defeated KSI. He later withdrew from a scheduled fight against Darren Till in January.
