Jason Lake, the founder and head of the esports club Complexity Gaming, has shared his opinion that Valve might not include the Cache map in the official map pool for Counter-Strike 2. He mentioned this on his personal X page.

“I’ve heard that Valve is unlikely to use Cache. I hope I’m wrong. Does anyone have different information?

I’m not claiming this is true (I’m trying to find out myself), but supposedly Valve is not interested in buying or renting the map for official play. It would be nice if they made an official statement, as the community is excited about Cache.

On March 3rd, map designer Shawn FMPONE Snelling released an updated version of Cache in the Steam Workshop. In 2019, Valve removed Cache from the list of tournament maps, replacing it with Vertigo.
