Morgan Riddle, an influencer and the partner of world No. 4 tennis player Taylor Fritz, has opened up about the less-than-perfect aspects of being a tennis WAG (Wives and Girlfriends).
For the past four and a half years, Morgan has been in a relationship with Taylor Fritz, travelling the globe to support him.
While her life might seem like a dream, jet-setting to VIP sections of prestigious tournaments like Wimbledon and the Australian Open, Morgan revealed a darker side to her travels.
On her way to Los Angeles for the Indian Wells Open, an incident with an X-ray machine at the airport prompted her to reflect on past travel horrors experienced while following Fritz around the world.
Sharing with her 429,000 Instagram followers, Morgan described a near-kidnapping incident in Acapulco, Mexico.
Accompanying a sunset photo, she explained: “Attempted kidnapping in Acapulco last year (by the man standing behind the tree).
“He and another individual chased me along the beach, and I had to sprint and scream for assistance from hotel security.
“Although the tournament advised us against going out alone, I wanted to capture a sunset photo, so this was partly my fault.”
Morgan also posted a distressing image of her legs with cuts, explaining she was “electrocuted in Eastbourne.”
The unsettling stories continued with Morgan recounting burglaries at their Airbnbs in Santorini, Ibiza, and London – all while she was present in the properties.
She further admitted to getting sick in a Prada store in Paris due to food poisoning, experiencing the effects of a “space brownie” in Amsterdam, and getting lost in Shanghai with no way to call a taxi.
Fritz and Morgan also contracted Covid and were “confined to an eight-day government quarantine in South Korea.”
During this quarantine, the US Open finalist hilariously used his girlfriend as a weight for bench presses to maintain fitness for a tournament in Tokyo the following week.
Concluding her reflections on these difficult moments, Morgan advised: “Moral of the story, travel is enjoyable, but ladies, remain vigilant.”
Often recognized for her striking outfits, the blonde influencer has been labeled as the “most famous woman in men’s tennis.”
