Timur “Ahilles” Kulmukhambetov, coach of the 1win Dota 2 team, shared his opinion on the new patch 7.38b, which was released on the night of March 5th. He posted his thoughts on his Telegram channel.
Ahilles approves of the Tormentor nerf, believing it was too strong in the early game. He thinks the Glimmer Cape nerf is good, but the item might still be viable for support heroes. He mentioned that he needs to test the landscape changes in-game to properly evaluate them.
Regarding other changes, Ahilles jokingly said that Naix (Lifestealer) is “killed” (meaning significantly weakened) and Dragon Knight’s red form seems to be “killed” as well, implying a nerf to the hero’s red dragon form. He also believes Tiny received a strong nerf, and while Abaddon was nerfed, he still seems playable.
Ahilles concluded by asking his followers what changes they noticed in the patch.
Patch 7.38b was released after DreamLeague Season 25. Valve adjusted various hero and item characteristics, including those of Dragon Knight, Abaddon, and Glimmer Cape.
